Alright, I need to ask something: Does 'engraving' include permanent marker? Am I just being pedantic here or is that entirely the wrong word for using a Sharpie to write words on brass cylinders? That's just been bugging me because I think engraving means carving, and implies a lot more effort.

Very happy to realize that I can use miniature base inserts as paint swatch toppers for Pro-Acryl and Vallejo Metal Color flip-top bottles. Plus they're very satisfying to paint. Now I just need to print more of them (and buy more bottle caps).

Picked up the Tome of Mysteries and I am reminded that an old side project involved writing down how to use #MotW to run a vampire hunting cabal based on Lost Boys, Priest, and Dusk til Dawn. Maybe a bit of V thrown in there for good measure. And the occasional other cryptid, I suppose, for spice.

It's always fun when your brain takes two different inputs from wildly different sources that just happen to both occur during the same 24-hour period and squishes them together into a whole new idea that you can throw into your #worldbuilding. I recommend also doing this on purpose.

I think the thing I find most annoying about researching cultures is that most of the time all I get is history. Here's the big names and wars, the borders and the cities. Fine- but what was it like to live there? Their daily rituals, social values, food, drink, clothing, village houses, taboos?
