Scoping review title and abstract screening conflict resolution seminar was a success 😂 Time for full text screening! Weirdly looking forward to it, let's see how long that enthusiasm lasts...

Unrelated to research, I passed my BSL level 1 🥳 (this is fortunate, since I'm already several weeks into level 2!)

For clarity: I'm not looking at trying to replace trans healthcare! Trans healthcare is great! But I know its not always accessible or even wanted by some TNB people, so my aim is to see what works (and what doesn't) if you're on a wait list, struggling to access, or just not interested.

Using my 'quiet time' (touch wood!) to finally read some completed PhD theses to get an idea of how much I'm actually gonna have to write. Wierdly, not as overwhelming as I expected 😅

Met up with my second screener to chat scoping review, spent most of the meeting gushing about how great and user friendly rayyan is 😂

For something a little different, sitting under a giant moon art installation for an evening lecture examining "evidence" the moon landing was fake - entertaining and educational!

Tl;dr update: scoping review is well underway, recruitment is about to start (scary and exciting!), and I went way out my comfort zone and participated in the 3 minute thesis competition 😬

Day 203 - lil bit of spss this weekend cos I'm stressed about how long its taking, made up for it by impulse buying some plants for these pots we inherited. Hoping they'll be a bit harder to kill than houseplants 🤞

Despite talking about a #queer subject in queer spaces, I still find myself trying to fit a normative way of presenting. Using academic speak, trying not to rabbit hole, working out when I can swear. Day 200 - took a bit of a social media break, but I'm back and making progress 💪 scoping review protocol is done and sent for feedback, and I'm starting some exciting recruitment 👀

Day 169 - back from a week of stage managing at the Keswick convention and ready (ish) to tackle a week of unread emails 📧

Day 157 - Arrived in Manchester for #ifph2025!

Day 155 - a day buried in spss, but at least I had company 🐱

Day 151 - back from Wales and frantically trying to catch up on RA work...

Final workshop on publishing and sharing research.

Day 150 - starting the final day with a career development workshop, which currently involves us reading our bluesky/linkedin bios and getting group feedback 😂

Day 149 - continuing the summer school with presenting my PhD project and listening to others present theirs. Got some great feedback and some really fun discussions about everyone's research.

It was worth coming to the summer school just for the beauty of Ynys Llanddwyn <3

Finished up the morning with an overview of systematic reviews, and a really interesting and helpful talk on co-creation and arts based approaches. This afternoon, off to the beach! 🏖

Starting the summer school with a health economics masterclass. Think I managed to grasp the basics, and especially appreciated the frequent 'stand up and stretch' breaks 😂

Day 147 - arrived in Bangor for a health research summer school! Spent the day spotting everything that's changed since doing my undergrad here... and getting sunburnt, oops ☀️

Day 144 - managed some more scoping review practice, despite the fluffball stealing my seat every time I stood up.

Day 143 - I actually have been working on my PhD, but today I made my voice acting debut! Being part of a research group opens up the strangest of opportunities 😂

Day 139 - finally decided on a project for this gorgeous (and more expensive than anticipated) yarn. Here's hoping I don't mess it up 😂🧶

Day 138 - programme approval approved 🥳 nice to have one thing finished amongst the seemingly never ending to-do list 😂

I resonate with so much of this. Being queer&neurodivergent IS freeing - I already don't fit into some of your neat little boxes, so is it really going to make much of a difference if I explore outside the others too? 😄

Day 136 - always nice to have study days with fellow pgrs, even if most of our conversations are 'stupid question, but...'

Kind of wish academic papers could come with 1980s style sword and sorcery cover images.

Day 135 - ran some practice scoping searches, and only got a little bit distracted reading interesting research papers 📃

A lollipop man just helped me cross the road. I knew I looked young but I didn't think I looked *that* young.

I think my niece captured me (and my cat) perfectly.
