The government accepts the need for it to take ‘a fundamental look’ at the SEND system, the DfE’s most senior official has told MPs

Did you know that if the Special school place funding had tracked inflation, there would have been a cumulative additional £1.4 billion pounds (based on an average 100,000 children in the system) allocated to Special schools. This year alone my school would have been £431k better off. #SEND #EduSky

On Monday we welcomed Dame Rachel de Souza to the NE to meet with regional leaders at a Schools North East Roundtable. Dame Rachel discussed the Big Ambition, Children’s Voices and the pressing need for reform and local services to be enabled to support all children with SEND.
