Dillon Dingler now has 2 barrels today after a 2-run HR with a 107.5 MPH exit velocity. He previously hit a 103.5 MPH 2B. Dingler entered play ranking in the 88th percentile or better in hard-hit rate, xBA, xwOBA, xSLG and barrel rate. Also a 17.5 K%. Breakout season at the plate.

Small sample size, but #Tigers starter Keider Montero entered play today with the 2nd-lowest xwOBA against among all pitchers with at least 10 IP (.173). Montero has yet to allow a barrel in 12.1 IP. He has 2 K & 2 swings and misses on 25 pitches through a pair of scoreless innings so far today.

Tigers announce an 8-year, $150m extension with Kevin McGonigle. The deal begins next season and runs thru 2034, covering 3 years past what would’ve been free agency.
