The Beast at Kings Island is proof that there is more to coasters than g-forces and themed elements. It manages to be the legendary ride that it is for 2 factors: its length, and its location. It feels epic in scope, and its deep woodland location makes it feel appropriately remote and rustic.

It feels like endings, definitive endings, have fallen out of fashion. Even stories that have them frequently get follow-ups either with sequels or in the form of remakes, reboots, reimaginings, whatever. It's ok if there is no more Star Wars or Trek or Silent Hill.

Ok so MGS: Master Collection Vol. 2 has been confirmed to still be in production. It's assumed it will at least contain Metal Gear Solid 4 & Peace Walker, but assuming it is structured similarly to Master Collection Vol. 1 there's probably one more main game and at least 2 bonus games.

It was nice that My Little Pony: The Movie (2017) was a 2d animated continuation of the show and not a 3d animated cinematic reboot. No shade on "A New Generation" but it would have been really disappointing in 2017 to get a My Little Pony movie that *didn't* feel like part of the series.

It's wild that Tron as a franchise just won't die. First movie came out in the 80s and was largely forgotten. Then in 2003 there was a videogame Sequel Tron 2.0 which was largely forgotten, then in 2010 there was a legacy sequel that was largely forgotten. Now In 2025 there's ANOTHER legacy sequel.

Ok, so. This is old news but I JUST heard that Vin Diesel announced that Paul Walker's character Brian O'Conner is going to return in the 11th Fast and Furious movie. I'm kinda shook. O'Conner's exit from the franchise following Walker's death remains one of the best moments in the whole franchise!

In terms of graphics technology Metal Gear Solid was the first 3D Metal Gear Solid game, but it used 3D gfx to replicate the gameplay of the prior 2D games, MGS 2 iterated on that gameplay. Even though both games had various levels of elevation the industrial environs made the elevations discrete.

The 30mm AC kits are AMAZING! The arms are a skosh looser than I'd like but the builds are 2/2 for being fun to build!

So I'm nearing the end of my second playthrough of Metal Gear Solid 3 (this time on the original hardware). And so I've been watching a myriad of video essays to satisfy my fixation. I'm BAFFLED as to why people find the ending emotional.

It's wild that Metal Gear Solid 3 has the most inaccurate title ever. It doesn't feature a Metal Gear. Solid doesn't directly refer to anything as Solid Snake doesn't appear, and it's not even the 3rd game. It's the fifth released overall and the earliest point in the chronology.

Nothing is quite like playing a Metal Gear Solid game on its original hardware. Given Kojima Productions's focus on using the target hardware to its fullest, none of the games have ever been 100% accurately ported or rereleased. Even emulation comes with its own quirks and compromises.

What if I organized my movies by genre but then also ordered them on genre gradients. Like the sci-fi shelves would start with 2001: A Space Odyssey, but as you went further right they'd get progressively more fantasy until we've like transitioned all the way to Star Wars and eventually LotR.

When Ryuhei Kitamura completed a first pass of the Twin Snakes's cut scenes which were identical to MGS's original cutscenes Kojima told him to start over and make them more in his own style. Hideo Kojima clearly isn't interested in a "respectful" remake.

A criticism of the new Toxic Avenger seems to be the use of CG imagery to augment the practical gore effects. The prevailing opinion being that the older Troma movies achieved more visceral imagery on a smaller budget with practical effects. This underestimates the expense of practical effects.
