this is an affordable candle-making kit from a reputable supplier, if you’re looking to make a couple candles with someone or on your own. they choose the fragrances for you, but you can also just not use them if you’re not into scents

this is merely a wick test happening, but the glass is doing great and i am going to be introducing gift packaging for them. i have been working on a site redesign, too, so most of the work has been behind the scenes.

it’s been awhile since i talked about other brands’ candles

yesterday you’s sold out the final “first!” restock. i am thinking of ways to bring back a run of tomato candles that are far less difficult to make than “nice tomato” - so anyone who got one (or two!) already should feel very special for getting in early on the Tomato Candle Stocks™

i am currently testing two scents for the first fall launch: the first is a candy corn inspired jar (first vessel in the shop!). it smells like vanilla with caramel and honey but it’s very light and nice, not thick or sickeningly sweet (we are not a gourmand candle household here).

candle warmers are great! no flame so generally safer (depends on the warmer vs the candle at that point). you’ll still be releasing fragrance oils into the air, so make sure not to use them in rooms with things known to degrade over time with contact (like LEGO)

there’s no science behind beeswax candles cleaning the air but candle-making content creators and sellers love to add it as an anecdote to sell. lies do not rock! burning *anything* in your home will decrease air quality

there will definitely be a beeswax collection in time for holiday shopping. lots of experiments to do 😈
