Today, as we celebrate the International Day of Women in Diplomacy, our world is in great turmoil, and we need more than ever to prioritize dialogue and diplomacy. As a Gender Champion, I urge all member states to take further measures to increase the representation of women in diplomacy.

Tonight, at the opening of the exhibition, "Reviving the Spirit of San Francisco," we honored the legacy of the UN Charter and the promise made in 1945. May the spirit of San Francisco move us to function better and to deliver bold solutions for a more peaceful, just, and prosperous world.

I am deeply alarmed by the attacks by the United States against Iran. I reiterate that we cannot afford further military escalation in the ME. I call on all parties to engage in diplomacy and pursue dialogue in order to settle any disputes in accordance with the UN Charter and international law.
