At the High Level Forum on Culture of Peace on “Empowering Youth for a Culture of Peace”, Portugal noted that National Plan for Youth devotes particular attention to building youth capacity to participate in democratic processes, promoting culture of tolerance, dialogue, and peaceful coexistence.

Portugal voted in favour of the Sevilla Commitment yesterday in the #UNGA, as adopted at the highest level by the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development #FfD4 in July, a strong multilateral outcome, and stands ready to contribute to its implementation going forward.

At #GA plenary on report of UN Youth Office, Portugal noted that, as we celebrate 80th anniversary of the UN, States should recommit to “listen to and work with youth”. Portugal is confident that Youth Office will be a strong supporter in fulfilling this commitment. We are ready to do our part.
