Great article! I'm grateful to Dr. Winer for adding the term gender-detachment to the conversation as an agender person. I often feel like gender-detached folks come to people like me looking for community and understanding, and we try, but inherently our experiences are different.

You know what, I'm going to say it: The cisnormativity in art education is harmful. The way figure drawing is taught with this whole "how to draw men vs how to draw women" approach is detrimental to developing the eye and creating realistic and unique figures from imagination.
