Iâve always liked the magazine for their coverage of politics, style, culture, etc. but I especially loved the writing, so I bit.

After years of covering 300+ homicides, I tried to take stock of what it means for Baltimore to finally see fewer than 150 victims this year. But people kept getting killed. 2 things are true: weâve seen historic declines, and still too many ppl are dying

After the private equity firm Alden Capital purchased the Chicago Tribune some years ago, many of its best people left or were pushed out, diminishing the paper and its importance. But those who remained do great work, like Mr Pratt, here. The first draft of a terrible history.

So true. I recently watched Stand By Me with my 15-year old son. What struck me in this viewing was how much affection the boys had for each other and especially how Chris physically comforts Gordie. Black holes will never know such warmth.

The RSF just attacked a kindergarten, killing at least 33 children in Sudan. Meanwhile, the Trump Admin. continues to sell arms to the UAE, who are aiding these atrocities. Imagine if Trump spent as much time trying to stop the killing, as he did getting the UAE to invest in his crypto coin.

The Ravens offense stinks with some of the most talented players in the world. Everyone is tired of it. Change something. Do something. The stagnant approach just is not working anymore, and maybe somebody needs to lose their job to jolt the urgency:

Deeply racist, yes, but also deeply stupid. Rural counties have higher enrollments than urban ones. Some of the largest enrollment states are red ones like Louisiana, Oklahoma and West Virginia. Undocumented immigrants are ineligible. Most beneficiaries are required to work 80 hrs/month.

The presence of a military-trained, heavily armed unit on standby would have a chilling effect on free speech, deterring people from exercising their First Amendment rights, particularly in marginalized communities that have historically faced disproportionate force.
