Moving from chocolate making to challah making today.

For my son's birthday today, made chocolate cupcakes with pink swiss buttercream on top. The piping looked great but got a little squished when I put the saran wrap on top of the containers! For our goody bags I made brown butter chocolate chip cookies & sables. Nate made gingersnaps.

This is a great thread. One thing I want to add is that a lot of gentiles are now inserting themselves into very Jewish conversations around Jewish identities in ways that wouldn't be appropriate for any other group.

Made a chocolate torte for Sy's 6th birthday tomorrow (the joys of having a Passover birthday). I had some issues with the recipe & it didn't come out like I wanted but it was still yummy. Always learning how to be a better baker!

What is Passover without matzah toffee? I used a new recipe with caramel, butter, condensed milk, coconut, milk chocolate, and matzah. Next time I would go with dark chocolate but it was very yummy.

For dinner we made a Mina which is a passover pie. The ground beef is cooked in a pie crust of matzah.

So I want to expand on this with some red flags I mention to students when they are applying for nonprofit jobs: 1)What are the hours? I once interviewed & was told that the job was up to 10 hours a week, 6 days a week. And in NY the job pay was 30,000 a year which leads to... 2)Is the pay livable?

Last of non Passover baking. Made chocolate crinkle cookies for Sys birthday, right after Pesach.

Nonprofits aren't always good & some take advantage/exploit the motivation that people have for working in nonprofits or with a certain population with low pay & lots of hours. This leads to burnout and some great people leaving nonprofit work. Smaller nonprofits sometimes do this with volunteers.

This is an amazing amount of people coming out to protest!

Went to the No King day in Mansfield with my protest partner @rnavarre.bsky.social. 275 people for a small suburban protest. Brought both of the kids. Aviva was cute sitting in her stroller with a sign that says "Tyranny makes me cry".
