CBS News is dead to me.

We went from being referred to as a “shining city on a hill,” under Reagan, to a “predator force,” under a Trump. Today’s Republicans have some serious marketing deficiencies.

The question is not whether Trump will get impeached in 2027. The question is why Trump is not getting impeached in 2026.

I would not criticize Governor Walz for doing what he believes is best for his family. Unfortunately, though, his decision will have the effect of reinforcing Trump’s modern McCarthyism.

The Nobel Peace Prize is non-transferable. It can be awarded only by the Nobel Committee. But the fact that Maria Corina Machado would give hers to Trump in exchange for peace proves how much she deserves it, and the fact that Trump would accept the transfer proves how much he does not deserve it.

Hegseth didn’t have the courage to give Mark Kelly a trial by court martial because he knew he would lose it and be humiliated. So he is taking the cowardly way out. Whatever action he takes unilaterally will discredit US military civilian leadership and be reversed in 3 years.

Why does the Navy need to attack these alleged drug smuggling boats by air? Wouldn’t it make more sense for an amphibious assault group, or one of the several destroyers in the Caribbean, to seize the boats? If a boat takes any offensive action, that would be the time to blow it out of the water.

I predict that an honest evaluation will be done some day of the 2016 and 2024 elections, and Trump will be shown to have lost both.

The reminder made by Senator Mark Kelly and his colleagues that U.S. military personnel should refuse to follow orders to engage in illegal activity was nothing remarkable. They were merely restating what members of the military should already know.
