I did nearly buy a light phone out of protest when my pixel stopped charging whilst I was away (and it’s a hassle because you have your tickets and whatever else on that thing) but there was too much hanging about on the listing and I wound up just heading to Argos instead. I regret that every day.

I know they’re old now, I’d need to relearn T9 and I’d have to live without FaceTime and whatever authenticator app + I wouldn’t be able eat anywhere with a QR code for a menu, but I still consider trading my smartphone for this on an almost daily basis.

In other news, away from Renoise (but maybe later in Renoise, who knows?) I’ve wired a Meng Qi Wingie 2 up to my pedalboard and it’s one of the most beautiful sounds I’ve heard in a long time.

Thank you for all the lovely comments on the death remnant video album by the way, been a bit of a long time coming but life got in the way a bit. There’s been a lot of change since that project debuted nearly five years ago and I’m looking forward to a new direction.

On that note, if anyone’s got any YouTube alternatives (short of running my own peertube server) let me know. I only really use YouTube now for Blender tutorials and instructional videos.

Things have been a bit hectic lately but post streaming I think I’m going to look to Subvert as a way of releasing any future stuff and discovering new music. How is it so far? Let me know if you’re doing the same 🙂
