I don't think I have a strategy beyond "immersing myself in the content that I'm going to be writing". More of a "get into a specific headspace" than "coming up with a plan". Also, Oikos Greek yogurt cups. Those things are great.

I try to write a little everyday. (it strengthens your writing muscles so the jump to 1667 words isn't as difficult as if you've never done it before.) And I've set a basic plot of what I want to write about and accomplish during NaNoWriMo. #NaNoWriMo

One of the best strategies I have ever been introduced to- plan for zero days. What’s the likelihood you’ll be able to write every day? Give yourself a certain number of days to be able to not write, and adjust your daily word count accordingly.

Last year I followed Kate Cavanaugh’s example and worked through 8(!) story ideas to try and decide/prep for NaNo. So far this year I had thought of only 1- until this morning. So I’ll workshop 2, in the same vein as last year.

By outlining my WIP as a script (for class purposes) and trying to get schoolwork done in a way that leaves me room for sprints in November.
