fascinated by how people seem to put illness and disability into a separate category alongside work/ the economy/ education. It seems to be viewed as "one thing among many" in a list when in fact your health status wraps around everything. Health and ability is the paper the list is written on ffs.

During the past week, nearly 36,000 Americans were hospitalized with COVID, the highest since January 2023. Over the last two weeks, there were 4,262 COVID deaths. This is the 18th week in a row with more than 1,000 new deaths in the US. The pandemic is not over.

Our actions today determine the trajectory of this pandemic. The pandemic demands collective action. Every precaution, especially masking up, contributes to the larger effort of suppressing the virus, preventing unnecessary sickness & debility.
