Studies in the Fantastic is seeking pitches and submissions for media reviews! We’re looking for thoughtful, critical takes on horror, speculative fiction, and the fantastic across various forms—video games, films, literature, and more. For example we’d love a piece on Andor (Star Wars TV show).

Our mission? To publish refereed essays, informed by scholarly criticism and theory, on fantastic texts and their broader social significance—from weird fiction and sci-fi to architecture, video games, futurism, and more. We spotlight genres often overlooked in humanistic scholarship.
