My theory: people in their 60s now were young adults in the 80s. It's a Thatcher thing- they're the first people to pass through nearly all their working life in an individualist world. Previous generations of 60-year-olds were likely to have known a community with at least an element of solidarity.

How infuriating to hear the chairman(?) of Asda on the Today programme implying that land use for solar farms might significantly hurt UK food production. It's nonsense.
