“Doesn’t have the infrastructure” is often used as a crutch for people who want to sound more reasonable that your standard NIMBY, but the fact that infrastructure is something that can be changed/upgraded immediately invalidates this concern.

Many Massachusetts neighborhoods would be illegal to build today. This tree-lined street in Swampscott would require 20,000sf lots to build a home today. 7 of the 12 homes sit on lots under 8,500sf & none exceed 12,000sf. That’s how disconnected zoning has become from reality.

I see a lot of commentary not talking about the fact that the main investors of OpenAI and Anthropic are also the main investors of a lot of the biggest tech companies using OpenAI and Anthropic (e.g. sequoia capital).
