So much opportunity is being missed by a very narrow plan. Every effort should be made to keep these buildings as community resources even if the Church of Scotland can't make use of them anymore.

This week yet again, I've been reminded of the power in really listening, in being listened to, and in feeling heard. Power with and alongside. Not over-complicated or tidied up. Listening needs space - to breathe and be, just as it is, and as long as it takes.

Living well means coming to our available senses again and again. Across the community, those that can, will: *Make the invisible visible. *Bring the out of touch into reach. *Heed the unheard. *Feel through the numbness. *Smell the hidden aromas.

The beautiful Loch Venachar, where I’m enjoying some peace before the guides arrive. It’s chilly though.

1st full week being alongside the community in Toryglen. Wow, what a place! A lively community cafe, & a coffee morning being established too, as well as lots of clubs. Folks sharing news, deep in conversation, taking breakfast back for neighbours unable to get out. ❤️

Yes, agreed. I’ve just finished
@cormacrussell.bsky.social
’s book on The Connected Community and I suspect he would agree. All communities have assets but we’re not good at exploring them, preferring to highlight the deficits.

We'd love to connect (& reconnect!) with more people across Scotland who are interested & passionate about Asset Based Community Development to celebrate success & stories across the country. Would really appreciate a wee repost as we get settled over here on Bluesky 😁

I’ve just finished reading “The Connected Community”, by
@cormacrussell.bsky.social
and John McKnight after learning a while ago about Asset Based Community Development. Lots of interesting suggestions and ideas in it! Anyone else read it?

This is an interesting little fund to support community led ideas around "demystifying death". Open until 21st March

"The no solution revolution"! Maff has an amazing way with words. Looking forward to the book launch next week, and to reading the book very soon.
