We see through the smokescreen. Trump's attacks on schools and freedom of speech — in the false name of Jewish safety — aren't fooling us. But strong democracies with robust freedom for education, discourse, and dissent DO keep us safe.

The ADL always believed that defending the Jews meant defending democracy because Jews are only safe in free countries. Now they're betraying that legacy just as the Trump administration that opposing fascism is terrorism, including researching and naming fascists.

Antisemitism doesn't live in a vacuum. It can only be dismantled alongside other forms of oppression, in solidarity with all who are threatened by white nationalism. The ADL is abandoning this truth, capitulating to a movement endangering all of us. 🧵
