We were proud to attend @mayor.nyc.gov's interfaith breakfast last week with friends and New Yorkers from all faiths. We share Mayor Mamdani's commitment to immigrant justice and his vision of safety and thriving for all — no matter who we are, where we're from, or how we pray.

Targeting and arresting journalists is a textbook authoritarian move. Period. Freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and freedom to dissent are essential to our democracy. Our community of Jews and allies rejects any attempt to suppress them. Because we know from our history where it leads.

the arrest of journalists in minneapolis, including don lemon, is more evidence that the only move the administration knows how to make is to use force, and does not know how to respond when that force is met with defiance and indifference.

Many are used to talking about the toll of anti-Black racism from the lens of killings by police. Science keeps telling us that legal and social systems of oppression also dispatch silent killers that, without interventions, literally steal Black lives before their time.
