I expected NOTHING for me from the Game Awards and came out VERY surprised, Project Century from RGG which is such an interesting setting. And the Third enemy faction for Helldivers. I could not be happier.

Game Awards aside, these are my top games of 2024, the ones that didn't come out in 2024 and are here is because I played them in 2024. 2024 was an year FULL with fucking wonderful JRPGs. Including some I didn't play. I'll briefly talk a bit about each in this thread.

Finished Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake's Main Story today, I loved it, it had just enough new additions to make it fresh for returning players and inviting enough for new ones. It probably will be the definitive version of the game, specially with mods to tailor it to your liking.

I finished Metaphor yesterday, and I can confidently say it is my 2024 GOTY. It started just OK for me but the more I played it and the more I got invested in the story the more I loved it. Probably my favorite Atlus game yet, alongside my favorite cast as well, including the Villain.

I have 80 hours on Baldur's Gate 3 and it's safe to say that I really really like it. I went from having no interest in it, to buying it just to support good consumer practices to it now being one of my top games this year. It's even got me interested in tabletop DnD which I've never played.

When the topic of Video Games significance as an entertainment medium comes up, people like to point out how big the revenue is when compared to other mediums. But I dont like that because those numbers are incredibly inflated by predatory monetization schemes. It's not something to be proud about.

Truck Simulator (both American and Euro) is my favorite guilty pleasure. They're great turn-off-brain games. I know it's a 'do real work' game, but I like it.
