I'm late on the """""new""""" Star Fox reveal, I know. And I gotta say... I'm disappointed. Nearly 10 years ago, we got Star Fox 64 but with one of the shittiest control schemes imaginable. Now we get Star Fox 64 but with characters designs straight out of the Uncanny Valley.

Every time I see a YouTube video with a warning about flashing lights, and those flashing lights are purely an aesthetic choice, I can't help but wonder, was that choice really a good idea in the first place? The answer is no. I'm not even sensitive to it, I just find it annoying.

Valve will finally launch the Steam Controller on May 4 (assuming no delays), and honestly, $99 is way less than I was expecting it to cost in this fucked-up economy. I'll wait and see if it lives up to the hype, but if it turns out good, I'll be looking forward to getting it for my Steam Deck.

I finally snagged Atelier Yumia. I waited quite a while for a decent sale, and it just recently went for 40% off as part of a big Tecmo-Koei sale, seemingly for Golden Week. That's the best sale I've seen for it up to this point (I've been checking), and $42 is much more reasonable than $70.

Apparently, Game Freak/ILCA are so incompetent that Pokémon Champions is designed so that either player running out their overall timer means the match ends in a draw... which obviously leads to people slowplaying and forcing draws in ranked battles when they're about to lose. Like... really?

This is my 1000th post on Bluesky, so I'll use it to say that Pokémon Champions is very... whelming, I guess. At least so far. The tutorial moved at a plodding pace, the trainer cosmetics are just... meh, and the whole game definitely feels hamstrung by the free-to-start model.

The PS5 Pro was already among the worst value propositions in game-console history at its original $700 price. $900 is just... offensive. I know everything's more expensive now because of the RAM crisis, but I have no sympathy for the PS5 Pro because that thing was a piss-take from day one.

Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen will be sold on the Switch (2) for $20 each. Their only unique selling point is online play... which requires a Nintendo Switch Online subscription. Question: Why won't they just be part of NSO's GBA collection like all other GBA games on the Switch? Answer: Money.

I bought the original LCD model of the Steam Deck (fucking love it, by the way), so I'm a little bit sad to see it get discontinued, even though I know they have better models now. More than that, though, I'm annoyed to see Valve's hardware plans get fucked over by the RAM-gobbling AI gold rush.

I got Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2 for super-cheap in Steam's winter sale. Say what you will of those games, but I enjoy 'em enough, and my old PS3 won't work forever. Sadly, these PC ports are... pretty bad. They're not unsalvageable, but they'll definitely be modding projects on my Steam Deck.

This little game is way better than it has any right to be (ESPECIALLY the soundtrack, holy crap), and the Japan-only sequel is even better!

Welp, Firefox is about to be flushed down the AI toilet, so I'm gonna have to flush it down the "uninstall" toilet. I hope I can find a decent non-Chromium browser to replace it with. Speaking of AI, I'm deeply disappointed in Larian Studios too.
