He's so good at this. He's speaking to the current moment by drawing comparisons many need reminding of in the US, and paying tribute at the same time.

YouTube really needs a block button. It's too inundated now with AI slop. I never want to see those channels, yet it's not possible to block them.

You're kind of cooked when an audiobook's narrator does a voice for one of the characters and it's dreadful.

BlueSky is a bit boring, but it's the healthy kind of boring. One glance at any of the other more active social media apps and I'm reminded that this place is more representative of reality. Long may it stay free of bots, AI bad actors and activated foreign trolls.

Not to be a cliche but it was both of the last two Indiana Jones sequels. Also Man of Steel was reprehensible to me.

I've been rewatching Voyager and aside from the sad fact the show's 480p now, another note I had was how they really did start feeling homesick too fast. By week two away! Surely it'd all feel normal by then. Also, Janeway had the worst table. I dislike this thing *almost* as much as Neelix.

Finished this. I didn't expect to feel by the end of this breezy show that I hope they do more as I really would love to see more of Kingsley's Trevor Slattery. A lovely creation.

Wonder Man is very charming and fun. It's a lovely double-act going on with Sir Ben Kingsley and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. Six episodes in, it's not really a superhero show at all. It's just a story of two desperate actors.

Once the corps and oligarchs 100% took the news mass media it was really game over wasnāt it? Reagan killed the fairness doctrine. Clinton & Repubs then scrapped rules prohibiting media consolidation. Followed by 25 yrs of mergers, hiring careerists & firing real journalists and here we are.

Scream has gone the opposite direction of most horror franchises and become less comic the further it's gone on. Usually sequels this deep in start poking fun at themselves, and their legacy, but Scream has abandoned the sly wit of the Wes Craven era. A shame, really. That was what set them apart.

The reliance on shows these days to do flashback eps that build out the backstory of the protagonist, pausing the forward momentum of the main narrative to do so, is frustrating. I know with opinions like this there are examples of when it's worthwhile, but I'm still bored of the trope all the same.
