Look, if he’s going to keep saying it I have to speak up! The way Jon Sopel says absurd on The News Agents disturbs me.

This is one of the best modern trailers I’ve seen. And it holds back one of the big surprises that the original trailer gave away.

I've had a domain forever and never used it other than to to link to our podcast. I decided today to shame myself (and you) by writing an intro for me on there. If you think it's cringe, that's OK. I don't want it to be a LinkedIn CV. If you like it, saying so would cheer me up.

Kev, the best a writer can get
Kevin Lehane writes his hole off writing short stories, scripts, books and bios. You might remember him from such films as Grabbers and such podcasts as The Best Bits. He's very attractive in person.

Nothing prepares you for your 40s. Everyone you know is going through a crucible. Deaths of parents, spouses, careers, pets, breakdowns, panic attacks, mortgage strain, child needs but also couldn't afford kids, All blows dealt with privately as everyone else is dealing with their own privately too.

I hope you like it. We do all this as a labour of love, but sometimes life just tries to break your heart. Screen, Play: Supergirl and our top of the flops out in a few hours.

This has been a tough week for Will and me, for personal reasons, so the latest episode is one without our usual slick edit. I literally just remembered for instance that the ep goes out 10 mins ago. It does include two banging Ai theme tunes however where I wrote dumb lyrics and said make it EPIC.

For all its chaos, when The Bear focused on one or two characters it was often exceptional. Fishes and Forks remain grandstanding TV. It managed to make bottle-shows a highlight. The finale, after a slog of a season, is a fitting end to a singular show. In the end, it was excellent when it mattered.

Half-way through S5 of The Bear and I still don't know who Jeff is. They need to at least answer this before the finale. I've been wondering this since S1.

If you are a writer and are using (so-called) AI for anything more than collating research or managing timetables, you have given up on the "actual art” of what you do, which begs the question of why you are doing it at all.

Writers who use AI aren’t doping. They’re not even competing as cheats. They’re, at best, referees.

For three days in a row the heat record for June has been broken in the UK. The same story right across Europe. Any attempts at this key moment to slow climate action is utterly indefensible. We need day one action to accelerate our climate ambition from Andy Burnham.

Do you know what's great? Because we killed the planet it's just this but incrementally worse every year until we die! Isn't that amazing! It's just going to get hotter! Every year! Forever! We ruined the world and now it's going to punish us until the end of time!

That “viral” song, movie, influencer, and celebrity drama you scrolled by recently was likely the result of a stealth marketing campaign.

Really enjoyed reading his book “Directed by” not long ago. He had an incredible career for a type of TV, the live taped sitcom, that no longer exists. RIP in peace to him.

It's troubling to think that if Spielberg were making Jaws today — which I don't think he'd even entertain the thought, but if he did — he would use a CG shark.

Don’t ban kids using YouTube. Make YouTube behave like a broadcaster. Pay creators. Reinvest in the creative industries. Pay fair tax back into creators’ economies. Follow guidelines on fair usage and copyright. Play fair. It’s bigger than TV now. Make it behave like TV.

My day one job for John Ternus at Apple: pull the entire engineering and design teams off everything and put them all on the critical task of creating a MacBook where the screen doesn't touch the keypad when you close it, eliminating the constant need to clean the f'n screen every time you open it.
