I CANNOT stress the importance of good editing as a writer. My book was good, and probably readable before. After editing? So much better! Even if you can't afford an editor, robust beta reading and/or a good critique circle is worth the time and effort!

I did an interview with Quiet Writers about my recent release, Canvas of Scars 🤘 I talk a bit about my inspiration for it and how I feel about self-publishing in general (it's the only way I'll probably ever publish because yay for creative freedom).

I'm editing in all my free time this weekend, and getting caught back up with my writing group's work.

I'm finishing up my novella, Last Wolves of Paris! It's a historic urban fantasy about a trans werewolf and vampire that reluctantly team up to solve a string of murders in Paris in 1842. They try very hard not to catch feelings (they fail) I should have a release date soon!

My first book, Sword of the Voivode, is coming up on a year old next month. Last I checked, its got no reviews on Goodreads or Storygraph 😭 idk if anyone who participates has even read it, but that would help me out.

That's a tough question right now. I'm going to prioritize getting new stops for my skates so I can go roller skating after work.

We've started to put up our Halloween decorations around our apartment. My cats, and I got a request to review my book. If it passes, I'll finally have my book available at a local bookstore!

Ok, all things considered. I'm transgender, so the state of things have hit me pretty hard. I'm eliminating Facebook to limit social media time. The current climate isn't stopping me, but I'll fully admit it is tough.

As an SA survivor, I'm constantly told to 'curate my own experince' online and with the media I consume, but the courtesy doesn't extend in the same direction. People who create hard kink erotica don't always mark their work as such, making filters pointless. (cont)

Writing the romance for Last Wolves was genuinely one of my favorite parts. Bertrand's tangled feelings, Radu's reluctance, and their total acceptance of one another. I love writing trans characters that are fully accepted by their love interests. (cont)
