Last night, the poem went through a major revision and I finished it. I'm so happy with it. I put a lot of effort into this one, I refused to let the brain fog stop me. I'll post the final version soon 💜 It's a lot spicier, but all in 'garden' metaphor.

Finally, after weeks of terrible brain fog and worsening chronic illness, I started to write a poem last night. It's not done yet, I think I want it to be longer, but it's something. I'm so glad my brain still works creatively, even when I'm struggling to focus 💜

Talked to my counselor today. Life has been so unbelievably rough lately & I need to consider who I'm keeping close. If a relationship is bringing me a lot of stress or it seems unhealthy, I have to create distance. Mom's an obvious one. I barely have spoons to survive, I don't need ppl adding to it

Grocery shopping was a nightmare. People purposefully blocked aisles when they saw I was in a powerchair, making me go all the way around. Then a woman stood so close in the checkout that when I had to back up a little, I slammed into her cart by accident because she wouldn't fucking move.

WTF. I just got a $125 bill for calling the emergency line (911) in January when I was worried about my health in the middle of the night. I'm being charged $125 for the EMTs to have visited for a few minutes and left after checking my vitals. No one transported me. There was no hospital visit.

When random people say harmful stuff online, like eugenics shit, it's probably not a great idea for everyone to start talking about it & spreading it around because that spreads the message further & causes upset. Plus, the person is just a rando. Best to ignore & block. Let the void do its job.

Deleted that last thread about my querying process. I was just really stressed and overloaded from looking at a blank forum, but I think I did okay. The last time I queried agents was before I self-pubbed for the first time, so that was back in, like... 2019?

Another thing I have to say, is not everyone can afford to sell direct. I can't afford to have author copies on hand of my paperbacks. I can't drive due to my disabilities, so I can't get regular access to a post office. Selling physical copies direct is inaccessible to me.

If D2D doesn't change its policy to not punish legitimate authors on its platform because they can't properly deal with bookspam, I may have to make the decision to just be on Amazon, Kobo, & Itch directly. I wasn't selling books elsewhere anyway, but Itch will be the only place for my short stories

Can we talk for a minute? Everyone saying to 'stop supporting authors on KDP,' consider: KDP does not charge fees like D2D now does to just have your book up. KDP will be the affordable option for people like me, who are disabled and poor. Please still buy books from indies on Amazon.

This is utter BS. They're punishing authors who are struggling to even make enough to cash out with their payout limit. So basically, I'll never make money with D2D. I'll never see a cent because no one buys my books wide. I might just stop going wide for now because I can't afford another bill.

The first positive poem I've written in several years 💜

The opening of the first chapter of the new book I'm writing. It's the longest first chapter I've ever written 🙈 (5,600 words). I usually keep my chapters 3k or less, but this book has a lot to say.
