It breaks my heart that subpar fanTLs are enshrined in certain fandoms over some of the best official work in the business. But the opposite sucks as well. Most high-quality fansubs these days are only watched by other fansubbers and are shunned by casual viewers.

Just wanted to say thanks to the freelancers at crunchyroll who fought the tides and gave blood, sweat, and tears over the years to give us high-quality typesetting. I doubt they got paid a cent more for the effort. Those efforts shouldn't have to go to waste.

And that's a wrap on the first book I've ever read in Japanese! Shuukura vol 7 I've thought about 週くら lots and lots, but my favorite aspect of the series is the way the characters manage to turn their desperation into happy memories. I'll remember this volume forever and always

Read the first chapter of AdaShima SS2 in Japanese with my newfound dictionary-diving powers, and it turned me into a sobbing mess. Then went back to the end of 99.9 in English, which didn't hit me too hard the first time, but this time it totally took me out.
