No matter how many times I play Nioh, I find it virtually impossible to follow the story, but like... not in a bad way? In the same way that I am an outsider with passing knowledge of Japanese history, so is the protagonist, William. I kind of enjoy how, like him, I'm just along for the ride. Haha.

My static made it to phase 2 of M12S tonight. I'm loving this tier, but yowza, these DPS checks are no joke. They must've really tweaked some of these numbers to compensate for the extra weeks of tome gear, because I just don't see how you're meant to clear these fights otherwise.

I turned a novella I authored in for work the other day, and I hope I get to talk about it soon, especially as pertains to the inspiration I took from The King in Yellow, because oh boy was it ever fun to put my own little spin on the Yellow Mythos.

One thing that's stuck with me from an episode of a history podcast I listened to last year is that the notion of "learning from history" is flawed in that we, as a species, have proven time and time again that we're largely incapable of doing so. I yearn for a world where that isn't the case.

Finished act two of Silksong tonight. Man, there is no world in which this doesn't at least crack my top three games of the year. What a truly phenomenal game. Honestly, part of me selfishly wishes it had gotten delayed /again/ so that Team Cherry could continue to add to it. It's just that good.

Finished Metroid Prime 4 earlier tonight, and while I enjoyed the game overall, there are some glaring problems with it... such as how that might be the worst ending I've seen in a LONG time. Like, oh my GOD. I can't remember the last time I stared at a game's credits and went, "That's IT!?"

Every time one of the logs in Metroid Prime 4 says "metroid fusion" (in reference to how the bosses have all fused with metroids), I become the Leonardo pointing meme and go "METROID FUSION MENTIONED!??!?"

Streamed Metroid Prime 4's intro for my girlfriend earlier, and once she got too tuckered out to continue, I went, "Thanks for patiently watching me scan 100 things..." Maybe this isn't the best stream game. 😅

Learned twelve hours into my System Shock Remake playthrough that something is horribly wrong with how music is implemented, so the game isn't actually meant to be dead silent 99.99% of the time. 🫠 At least some kind soul made a mod that fixes the music. Good lord, it's so much better with music.

I saw Wicked: For Good today, and I can't remember the last time I left a theater hating a character as much as I hate Nessa. Would've dropped that house on her myself, given the chance. 😭
