Turns out Vancouver gets humid enough that you can get stringing by the end of your long PETG prints even if u dried your filament right before (no desiccant in the box atm). Turned the dryer back on and it went away

Done with the first draft of a blogpost about Ark VCS: ark-vcs.com in the context of #unity3d and #VRChat projects I've been blown away by how easy it has been to work with over the past month or two, so I'm hoping I can encourage more people to stop doing `myscene_backup_2` for backups

Lumines Arise by @enhance-experience.com is incredibly good. Cannot wait for the full release. The music is also an absolute bop, just like Tetris Effect, so I am having a hard time focusing on the game instead of just vibing to the beat

posting this to help any graphic design nerds using blender who happen to follow me: you gotta get this "ST2" addon. It add so many BASIC typesetting features that are just absent from vanilla blender. Case in point: opentype stylistic sets seen here. Saved me a major headache, coldtype.xyz/st2/

Been playing with some wetness effects for a #VRChat world recently. Took the math of @mochie.bsky.social 's water gerstner waves, rendered it to a texture, and then did some simple decay on it via Graphics.Blit. Its a little jank but I've stared at it long enough that I think its working #unity3d

VRC Light Volumes is a next-gen voxel based baked volumetric lighting solution for VRChat, I'm working on right now! It affects avatars, dynamic props, etc. Works really fast without major overhead even on Quest. It will be fully open-source and free, so stay tuned! #vrchat #gamedev #shader

Metal Eden's Demo turned out to be almost exactly what I hoped for. A mix of Deadlink, Doom Eternal, and a bit of Ghostrunner, set in a RUINER-style world. It delivered on what I wanted back when I played RUINER originally: "that, but FPS". Its up on steam, you should check it out 🙏

So we got a 299 limit for April Fools? I guess that's not a terrible way to do it. I feel like every time I try to come with something for april fools it ends up being too over-engineered and then I run out of time, so nothing ever ships. Maybe thats for the best, as some of those ideas were cursed

Thanks to David's amazing work here: github.com/frostbone25/... - I added contact hardening to the box projected reflections. This makes the reflection sharper near the "surface", which can result in a more accurate reflection on rough surfaces. Works best with spec occlusion #shaders #unity3d

Decided to spend some time adding Cloth and Clear Coat rendering options to my shaders. Based on the Google Filament approach. Implementing this for every single source of specular lighting we have in Unity was a royal pain, but definitely worth it 😍 #unity3d #shaders
