i have a vrchat rave venue that runs at 60fps in vr on a gtx 1650s 4gb where I can literally explode the god forsaken sun itself into a black hole without dropping more than 4 frames if i can do that, you can make your venue run above 40fps on a supercomputer i dont even try. it's so easy. please.

Gonna be entirely honest, I'm seeing more and more generative AI at a much faster rate on VRChat. Group banners & event posters are the biggest I'm seeing. If your promo is blatantly over-the-top AI generated, I feel like that would be driving people away, no? It shows a lack of effort and care.

If a VRChat world's description starts with "Step into a...", I am not visiting. If you're using ChatGPT to generate a description for your world, you likely used AI for everything else in there too. Your worlds are art, respect your own work. Like, even Popcorn Palace. That world deserves more.

World creators, remember that VRChat worlds can be anything. They don't need to have YouTube or mirrors, nor even be made with people in mind. You can put yourself into them. A simple idea, a vibe or an emotion you want others to understand. They can be art. And maybe it's better when they are.

If you make VRChat worlds, you are totally allowed to add interactive or automatic intro sequences to them, btw. You're allowed an ego! Make the music have an intro part to it, make the player press something, show the world's name, whatever you want. No world has to "deserve" one.

My headset keeps freezing & disconnecting from my PC and recovering the connection often takes restarting my headset, I think I have some cable damage but I can't be sure The interruption is long enough that I am nervous doing anything performative, so HOTSHOT's release is delayed indefinitely ;-;

I feel like what I perceive as a memory and what I perceive as a part of my imagination can be so difficult to tell apart. I was once scared, now I choose to bring these memories to life and share them with the world, so I can be sure: they are reality now. This unreal past becomes a real present.

pro tip for vrchat avatar creators with your facial gestures, make the avatar's mouth reset whenever the voice parameter isn't 0! this way, speaking will never look weird. i handle the face in two separate layers, one for the eyes and one for the mouth so i can still give the eyes extra motion.

Remaking old vrchat worlds is cathartic tbh I just remade one of my earliest worlds, Light in the Fog, because I was so not done with that Outer Wilds: EOTE headcanon First image is the Light in the Fog, the rest are When The Stars Join Us, which I should be releasing next week if all goes well ^^

Reminder that VRChat and other VR spaces are a much-needed escape many people need to cope with the collapsing quality of life in the real world. The people who need this escape most don't have thousands to throw at a top of the line PC. We owe it to them to optimize our stuff.

I saw an avatar with 1,500MB OF TEXTURE MEMORY the other day She told me to cope & get a better PC It was a private upload but, as usual, I global blocked it anyway, added a user note to her profile and proceeded to interact with her a lot while she very much knew I had her avatar hidden. :3

reminder to vrchat djs that you're allowed to be emotional and play emotional music if you want to. it doesn't always have to just go hard all the time! you're a performer, not just a source of backing music for people's conversations. you deserve to be the focus sometimes. show them who you are.
