The Conservatives underfunded our NHS along with other public services from 2010, resilience was stretched, working conditions and wages suffered, then COVID hit. Waiting lists went to a 6 year high. Now they are falling because of a return in investment.

Yesterday marked my final day as a Member of the Senedd for North Wales. From working as a postie to serving as the first and only Welsh Labour MS for the region - it has been an incredible honour and privilege.

Opening May, the new orthopaedic hub at Llandudno will streamline procedures and create a better working and care environment with modern design and new technology. There are 2 theatres, specialising in care, away from general hospitals, reducing the chance of surgeries being postponed.

Delighted that Wales has become the first UK nation to ban greyhound racing. A huge tribute to the charities, campaigners and activists behind #CutTheChase coalition. Greyhound racing will now be phased out by 2030, ending a practice that caused suffering for the benefit of the gambling industry.

Royal Mail must be held accountable for persistent delivery failures, a former postal worker turned Senedd member has said, as executives are summoned to Parliament to answer questions over delays

News that Royal Mail bosses are being hauled before Parliament is long overdue. When I raised poor letter delivery in the Senedd, Royal Mail asked me to “dob in” a branch - when clearly the problem is widespread. As a former postal worker, it is heartbreaking to see the damage of privatisation.

I'm thrilled that the £33m redevelopment of the Royal Alex Hospital in Rhyl has been confirmed. It will bring with it a new minor injuries unit, reablement facilities to take pressure off A&E, new dental suites, and expanded radiology services. Great news for the region! 🏥🩻

The corporate takeover of vets is leading to skyrocketing prices (up 63% in 5 years) and demoralised, underpaid staff being made to upsell unnecessary products and procedures. A change in the law is needed to reverse this. Watch Panorama at 10pm tonight on BBC1 to see their investigation.
