Tbh it's plausible. Capcom actually bans people for wearing unreleased event armour or items they shouldn't have (challenge pendants or DLC) which is something they couldn't do for World and Rise. Makes sense if Wilds is constantly checking to see if you have the DLC or not.

I think people should wait for more confirmation on that MHWilds DLC performance thing. But if it's actually real that's mental.

Interesting thing about MHWilds on the Switch 2 is that the game is doing a lot of things that weren't possible on the PS4 - such as Lagiacrus. They had to cut him from that game because he kept tanking performance. Shows how far hardware has come if he functions on the Switch 2 like that.
