Telling moment: I was walking back from the rally, but a couple miles from it, carrying nothing but my gigantic American flag. An eight year old on his bike sees me with it and yells "No Kings!!" with absolute conviction. My friends, they have lost the flag.

This is effectively the textbook definition of the Luddites. Technology including AI itself is amoral, it is up to us to properly integrate it into our society which maximises benefit and minimises harm, not stick our fingers in our ears and go "I can't hear you."

The manosphere uses the same mechanism that terrorist jihadist groups use, preying on young men trying to find in their place in the world, convincing them to fill their selfish desires is actually for the greater good and they will be rewarded.

Yeah, but those living outside the US are already used to this. "Faded" Froot Loops exist in Australia and the EU. Sort of like not selling cigarettes to minors kinds of "bad for business" impacts... Like maybe that isn't such a bad idea.

I think it was a "when" too, AI has hovered up the trivial answers, right or wrong, and what is left is dialogue. I am finding that async dialogue is happening on reddit while more real-time on discord. Stackoverflow is too structured around "I have a specific question" "here is the *right*" answer.
