I am also backing @drasifqasim.bsky.social, whom I’ve known for quite a few years now and have been deeply impressed with his efforts to effect change within the RCP and our profession. I believe he really cares about improving medicine in the UK and representing College members’ views

@drasifqasim.bsky.social on the other hand was one of the fellows who called the EGM. He spoke out brilliantly about the patient safety dangers of PAs at the EGM. He doesn't merely talk the talk, he has a track record of action to match. He was the #VoiceOfPhysicians when it counted.

As the BMJ makes clear, in 2024 the RCP's PA project became a debacle: - RCP estrangement from its fellows & members - Refusal to listen to their concerns - An EGM in which 97% of fellows rejected its stance - An investigation by the Kings Fund excoriating RCP leadership.
