I don’t know, at times I feel like *I’m* the one being punished for leaving Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and refusing to use them because my entire support system refuses to leave them and I am all alone.

Another visit to Heron View with no heron sightings. I did see a herd of deer (not able to get pics) and a flock of SNOW GEESE (no pics) and some Pileated woodpeckers (no pics) and heard cardinals, blue jays, nuthatches but didn’t see them. Who was happy to let me take pics? The Canadians, eh?

This month's Stephen King re-read is Different Seasons. I'm going to skip Apt Pupil for reasons right now. I'm doing them one by one, so may not finish til March, and it'll count then. Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption--don't remember the movie much, but I think I liked it better...

I really hope they don’t screw up the Scrubs revival. It’s my fave show after Twin Peaks. And I want more Denise/Jo (Eliza Coupe). I say the odds are pretty good for a Dr. Cox rant about trying to bring back the past and how it never works.

Just finished Native Son by Richard Wright. It's a must-read. Also, why had I never heard of this book until I read a paper on it for a grad school class? (Racism, I know).

Just watched Hoosiers (1986) for the first time, which made me nostalgic for Ohio winter...movie just had that feeling. Anyway an all white basketball team in 1950s Indiana totally tracks. Movie was what I expected, worth watching but probably not a repeat viewing.

I had been avoiding Drumline due to the presence of Mariah's annoying ex husband, but I finally watched it last night/finished it today and really enjoyed it. Maybe I should have stuck with marching band instead of quitting it after high school.

Shorsey’s back! Still miss Letterkenny and not a huge fan of this, but I’ll take what I can get.

Rewatched most of Russian Dolls (2005), the second in the L'auberge espagnole trilogy about Xavier being a dumb, annoying but pretty straight boy. Like...sure, Wendy's the most fun character, but her over Audrey Tautou? How does he get these women? Ah well, I still love these movies...

Down to the last three episodes of Mad Men. ¡A por ello!

I guess for Lent I'm going to try to go through a box of my mom's things a week, as I'm doing pretty well on writing in my travel blog (that no one reads)...when I finish the last trip I'll go back to working on my novel(s), I promise. Now to just get started on that *sigh*

Hearing all the talk about Burger Chef in Mad Men makes me wish I could have tried it...

Morning at Homer Lake. I saw the usuals (cardinals, blue jays, mallards, Canada geese, woodpeckers) along with a Carolina wren and Carolina chickadee, but while driving home I saw four hawks, a bald eagle and a skeleton waving at me. Not a very photogenic day though.

Colton Gentry's Third Act by Jeff Zentner. I would have liked it better if it were queer characters. It had a strong start but delved into a Hallmarkesque heterosexual romance (not my thing). Country singer is cancelled after saying F*** guns at a concert and returns to his KY hometown to begin anew

So we did a late Friday the 13th viewing of Videodrome (1983) in my quest to get through Cronenberg's oeuvre. Definitely one that left me thinking about a lot (despite lead actor vomit). Still relevant today (less you know the better, like most Cronenberg.) Also--Debbie I mean Deborah Harrie!)
