First visit to Eyebrook Res for nearly a month, and almost the first bird I saw was this juvenile American Golden Plover. Initially found amongst c600 Golden Plovers, it eventually gave great views from the Rutland side. A long-held ambition realised to pick one of these out! #vc55birds #ukbirding

Monday 29th September Stanford Res: 2 Glossy Ibis again at the settling pond. Rutland Water: 20 Pink-footed Geese flew east over the south arm this evening. Swithland Res: Black-tailed Godwit, Greenshank & 4 Ruff on the north side.

Sunday 28th September Undisclosed site in Rutland with no public access: Yellow-browed Warbler trapped and colour-ringed this morning. Rutland Water: Grey Plover, Lapwing hide, also Whinchat North Arm and an unconfirmed report of a Glossy Ibis on Lagoon 2.

Saturday 27th September Eyebrook Res: juv Little Stint on Rutland side of the inflow. Rutland Water: 2 Rock Pipits at Fishponds end of the North Arm. Stanford Res (permit holders only): 2 Glossy Ibis again early morning. Wymeswold: Wheatear in field south of the village.

Friday 26th September Stanford Res (permit holders only): 2 Glossy Ibis again early morning only before flying off, also Slav Grebe at the Narrows and a Bittern in the reedbed.

Thursday 25th September Stanford Res (permit holders only): 2 Glossy Ibis still at the settling pond, also Garganey at the Narrows, but no reports of the Lesser Scaup today. Swithland Res: 1st-winter Little Gull flew north this morning, also Greenshank, 2 Ruff & Common Sandpiper on the north side.

Wednesday 24th September Stanford Res (permit holders only): drake Lesser Scaup still, and the 3 Glossy Ibis again early morning only. Cossington Meadows: juv Little Stint, Tern Pool.

Tuesday 23rd September Stanford Res (permit holders only): eclipse drake Lesser Scaup this afternoon. Has been on both Leics and Northants sides of the reservoir. Also the 3 Glossy Ibis again early morning before flying off.

Monday 22nd September Rutland Water: juv Gannet, South Arm 3 this afternoon, also Whooper Swan earlier but flew off SW, and 1 Curlew Sandpiper still. Groby: juv Gannet flew north towards Bradgate Park at c14:10. Thornton Res: 2 Glossy Ibis flew east early evening.

Sunday 21st September Rutland Water: 2 Spoonbills flew over Wet Meadow/Lagoon 1 early morning. Stanford Res (permit holders only): 3 Glossy Ibis again early morning then flew off.

Saturday 20th September Groby Pool: juv Gannet taken into care this afternoon. Stanford Res (permit holders only): Black-necked Grebe, also 3 Glossy Ibis and Cattle Egret again this morning. Croft Hill: Glossy Ibis flew east at 08:00. Rutland Water: 1 Curlew Sandpiper still, South Arm 3.

Friday 19th September Stanford Res (permit holders only): 3 Glossy Ibis briefly behind the settling pond then flew NE, also 1 Cattle Egret.

Thursday 18th September Eyebrook Res: 2 Spotted Redshanks north of the island, also Garganey still. Rutland Water: 2 Curlew Sandpipers still, South Arm 3. Swithland Res: Garganey still on the south side.

Wednesday 17th September Moira: probable Glossy Ibis flew over heading towards Hicks Lodge at c16:00. Rutland Water: 3 juv Curlew Sandpipers still, South Arm 3 from Lapwing hide. Swithland Res: Garganey still on the south side, north of the causeway this afternoon.

Tuesday 16th September Sileby: Manx Shearwater found exhausted and taken into care.

Sunday 14th September Eyebrook Res: no sign of Pectoral Sandpiper today: Spotted Redshank still Rutland Water: 4 Curlew Sandpipers still, South Arm 2 from Wigeon hide Swithland Res: 4 Spoonbills flew south at 10:30; Garganey on south side from the causeway, also Black-tailed Godwit north side

Thursday 11th September Eyebrook Res: juv Pectoral Sandpiper still but mobile, usually either at the island or the inflow, often in the company of 2 Ruff. Also Spotted Redshank & Garganey still. Thornton Res: Black-necked Grebe off the dam.

Wednesday 10th September Eyebrook Res: juv Pectoral Sandpiper still, also Spotted Redshank & Garganey north of the island and 7 Black Terns this evening; 2 Cattle Egrets at the inflow, Green Sandpiper, Redshank, 4+ Ruff, 7 Common Sandpipers & 10 Ringed Plovers.

Thursday 4th September Rutland Water: 1st-winter Grey Phalarope still at north end of the dam; Spotted Redshank, South Arm 3. Swithland Res: juv Spotted Redshank on the north side, very distantly from dam, near the viaduct. Also 1 Ruff, 4 Black-tailed Godwits, 2 Greenshanks & 4 Common Sandpipers

Wednesday 3rd September Rutland Water: 1st-winter Grey Phalarope still showing well at the Sykes Lane end of the dam. Also two juvenile Shags Stanford Res (permit holders only): juv Little Gull, juv Med Gull & 5 Common Sandpipers.

Tuesday 2nd September Eyebrook Res: Red-backed Shrike in hedge on the Rutland side of the inflow, looking up the hill towards the converted barn this morning, but no sign after mid morning. Rutland Water: 1st-winter Grey Phalarope at the Sykes Lane end of the dam this evening.

Monday 1st September Eyebrook Res: Garganey in bay north of the island; Cattle Egret still at the inflow; 6 Ruff, 1 Dunlin, 1 Redshank, 4 juv LRPs.
