Sound Transit CEO Dow Constantine just announced that 205,000 riders boarded trains on the opening day of the Crosslake Connection, a number that's second only to the Super Bowl Parade.

We really, really like trains here. The event yesterday was a blast but some of the planning (main corridor width, entry spacing) was clearly made for a much smaller crowd.

Based on what the slides show, it seems like Option 2 would be favored above all else. Maybe with a deferred second tunnel (which will still be needed long-term), we could also get to Ballard.

This Metro outage is going into its second day. Transit app users should turn on the GO feature that pops up in the trip planner when traveling to help other riders. There’s no data coming from Metro but if enough people use GO it will provide fairly reliable data for anyone using the app

Somewhere close to 10,000 riders a day board Sound Transit light rail trains at Capitol Hill Station. That’s not too far off predictions from when the city subway station deep below the corner of Broadway and John carried its first … Continue reading →

Possibly the worst piece of ferry legislation since the removal of MVET revenue for WSF. It will have severe consequences for Kitsap Fast Ferries and kill any chance of fast passenger boats on routes that WSF could never serve.

Sound Transit CEO Dow Constantine says the early estimate of Link ridership yesterday during the Super Bowl victory parade was 200,000, an conservative number that is expected to be revised upward. That beats the 160,000-rider previous high water mark for Link. Sounder saw around 20,000 boardings.
