So I've been doing deliveries on GrubHub, HungryPanda, and Instacart to make some money so I can pay some bills. I'm somewhat surprised none of these gig work apps actually provide any APIs for their gig workers, or any integrations with ANY accounting software.

Im exhausted after 6 months of searching for a job, getting rejected after 5-6 rounds, doing take home assignments, fighting anxiety and my adhd brain fog during live coding interviews… and almost every rejection saying “you/your experience is valuable.” Apparently not valuable enough though. /rant

Starting to see less leetcode style interviews for technical evals, which I think is a good thing. Every company I’ve actually needed to use DSA knowledge, I was at companies that didn’t test via leetcode. The ones that did, it was never truly used on the job lol.

Every week, I see at least one headline that’s exactly this tweet.

This is the 3rd job this week a recruiter has reached out to me for where it’s less than what I made 10yrs ago as a junior developer in a LCOL/MCOL city… what is going on.

I'm not sure exactly what it is, but using Zed lately feels extremely inconsistent when trying to type fast. My vim keybinds will sometimes do random things instead, hitting tab for the auto complete showing then output something completely different.

Kind of funny how you can remember some things from a long time ago but forget other things. Just helped my aunt write a sql query for some tables in a large system used for health insurance, and I haven't looked at or touched those db tables in over 6yrs lol.

First time making home made bbq sauce. Tried to add a Mexican flair to it but “task successfully failed” and ended up making a spicy habanero bbq sauce without it tasting like chipotles or guajillo chiles lol. I think it’s time to start a food blog 🤣

*rant* I don’t need adhd meds to function or pass interviews, but it definitely makes it easier to by quieting all the noise in my brain. I really wish getting proper medical care/prescriptions wasn’t tied to employment here in the US.

Was a little surprised to see that a plugin I released for Zed last August has over 4700 downloads lol. Last time I actually checked, there were around 200 installs back in October. Are there really that many people writing permify schemas w/ Zed?

It’s crazy how terrible the American health system is. Every doctors visit is just trying to extract as much money as possible without really providing treatment. My gf had a surgery done in MX, and we’ve been in contact with him since returning to the US.

It cracks me up every time I visit Mexico, regardless of the place, or how nice it is. There will be some little jankiness to the construction of the place. I’ve been in Puebla for 5 days and just noticed the hot water line for one of the bathrooms was probably forgotten when they built the apt.

Been going down an adhd rabbit hole of trying different auth providers the past week while building a nuxt app. Started with Descope, ended up going with Descope lol. Only went through 5 different identity providers to avoid rolling my own lol 🤦‍♂️

I didn’t realize how difficult it could be to type with a bandaid on the tip of one finger. The consequences forgetting basic safety when chopping veggies for a brief moment lol.

In the case of me not being able to find another job in tech, I might have to open a torterillia up for the JC/NYC area. Just made a whole batch of corn tortillas and now only 6 are left out of 30 lol.

I’m looking to reboot/start a Go focused meetup in the #NYC area. Thinking of every 3rd Thursday or Saturday of the month. Goal would be to share knowledge/network/provide a space for new gophers learning #golang to get live help before or after the main talks.

Just realized I may not have been getting emails for a job for a certain company because their portal will change any domain to .com even if you enter a different one such as .dev 🤦‍♂️

Trying to make mockups to make development easier (as in have an idea of how to structure the ui lol). It became faster to just do everything manually than to have uizard's AI do things. Especially trying to create the dark mode versions, it didn't copy the same UI with a different color scheme 😅

A big part of the problem is stupid people have been convinced by rich people that AI is God, when AI is closer to an automatic dog food dispenser.
