Today Facebook reminded me of when Tiny was tiny and he was obsessed with the idea that I might need a lawyer because ai might get arrested, only he didn’t repeatedly ask me if I had a lawyer. The little voice would say, “Mommy, do you have a warrior for if you’re a fendent?”

While talking about the Hutchins warehouse, we talked a lot about lack of infrastructure. Now that (at least for a second) we’ve dodged that crisis, let me tell you that the community of Sandbranch, which is 15 minutes away, has not had drinkable water since the mid-80s. That should be fixed.

Readers of every persuasion are pretty surprised when I tell them a) that the owner of Majestic is reportedly a Trump and Abbott donor and b) that Majestic will not be sued by the owner because it is the owner, it just apparently set up an LLC to develop that property.

Man one thing is for certain, people do not understand property law, eminent domain, or the constitution.

If you're new to following me and you just started because of the Hutchins ICE story, let me explain why using warehouses for detaining people is a recipe for a public health catastrophe. (This is where my years sitting through interminable city planning meetings comes in handy.)

Now, I do want to say that this story isn't over. Sources have told me that the DHS was also looking at a location or locations near Alliance Airport in Fort Worth. Just because they didn't get this deal doesn't mean they won't pursue another one near DFW.
