I feel like everyone expects me to be at a different stage in "getting better", and telling the truth feels like I am disappointing them. It feels like I am constantly disappointing them. Not waking up as a new me the next morning.

I'd like to find a word for this, but It feels like I have a need, a strong need, to always cut contact or push someone away once they've gotten closer to me - I've done this repeatedly with past friendships. Recent ones more so.
