Lauren is truly one of the greatest people I know, both personally and professionally. She is a smart, insightful, thorough, passionate reporter and editor and an incredible person to work with. She will make your writing better, every time, and writes words that are always worth reading.

Atlas V is an incredible rocket, and one I will miss dearly. Last night the final Atlas V 551 put on a show that can only be described as breathtaking. I have had one shot in mind for this variant for years, and not only did I finally get it on my last chance, it might be my best work yet.

LRP: Everyone sleeps on the Cloisters, but they run some fantastic special exhibitions, have GORGEOUS herb and medieval gardens, and the area around the museum itself is a beautiful park with views of the Hudson and the Palisades. Also, yeah, the Unicorn tapestries are a must see at least once.

it cannot be overstated that the Cloisters is basically running a "weird Medieval guys" exhibit right now. You can see the tapestries AND these knives and it's barely even crowded.

We may have all disagreed with @emmalgometz.bsky.social‘s dogearring stance but they did break out the poetry that is “they’re the beautiful memories of my reading” so maybe we all were wrong to judge.

I knew it’d be What I Did For Love, but a tribute to A Chorus Line that’s just a “stand and sing” performance feels… wrong? It was beautiful but A Chorus Line is one of THE dancing (and character acting) shows!

Seeing Tom Stoppard in the In Memoriam reminds me: give me another Arcadia revival, I missed it the last time it was staged and it’s my favorite play because it is a brilliant example of science and math informing and inspiring art and introspection.

Cats: The Jellicle Ball is gonna be fine without winning best revival, but it WAS the best revival because it truly reimagined and *revived* its show. That said, Ragtime is also an incredible show. They just didn’t change a thing about its original staging, really.

I’ve been atrociously ill since Friday but my stubborn refusal to lose an entire long weekend to the horrors of having a body has turned into my doggedly doing every chore I can without risking further harm to myself. I am a VERY healthy person who WILL have the laundry put away, thank you.

I haven’t played in a decent while, but it’s still a bit sad to see, even if very unexpected. I have so many thoughts on this game, the characters I made for it, and the people I met through it, good and bad (but ultimately more good, I think). Prime Jengram will forever be my best Steam handle.

The frequency with which I tell people to “dink your oiter” should maybe be concerning.

Okay I ended up crying 4.5 times and cheered myself hoarse. Cats: The Jellicle Ball is an incredible reinvention and a joyful experience that is packed with SO much history and thought. ALW really is best when someone else goes, “Okay, buddy, we’ll take it from here.”

Chess is one of my favorite weird musicals and the current Broadway version leans HARD into the specter of nuclear war (it has always been a Cold War musical but this staging takes it to the next level). This is from the Chess in Concert version but STILL HITS.
