The Administration acknowledged that it will stop the survey that measures food insecurity, just as tariffs push up food prices and the deep cuts to food assistance enacted in July start to take effect. Congress must intervene to save these vital data.

HHS announced today they will consider Head Start a welfare program, not an education program, and will subject it to new citizenship requirements. This goes against decades of legal precedence that all children in America have a right to education. Announcement here.

I use the federal poverty guidelines in my work ALL the time, as do states that assess individuals' eligibility for critical programs. Additionally, w/o these experts, how will the feds assess how much money states get for many of these programs?
