It would be interesting to ask these schools a set of questions. To start…. Do you have a 2 or 3 year GCSE? Do you set for English/maths? What % of staff are specialist teachers in the subject they teach? What’s your hw policy? How many hours do you give subjects? School day hours? What else?

Since Tim Walz’s wife Gwen has been an English teacher AND has been involved in prison reform, I’m going to suggest a book to you. SHAKESPEARE SAVED MY LIFE by Laura Bates is an incredible nonfiction book about bringing Shakespeare to prisoners while not judging why they are incarcerated. 💙📚
