We just did a virtual book club meeting with folks from our comic shop about the first Dungeon Crawler Carl. What a blast. Lots of opinions especially about not liking Carl as a character until well towards the end of the book, immediate love of Donut and what pets we would bring into the dungeon.

LOL. My LCS still has their FCBD tables out and there is still a healthy stack of DCC available. Meanwhile this book is selling on eBay for an average of $10. Good on my shop for not trying to profit off them.

Facebook comic collecting groups are all up in their feelings over Dungeon Crawler Carl being a hot commodity post #FCBD. I guess a lot of them weren’t aware of the crossover appeal this series has and how that has driven demand for this particular book. #comics #DCC #Donut #Carl

Small haul for this year’s #FCBD. We were volunteering at our LCS this year and it was strange not to be bin diving while in the shop. I’ve seen posts on Reddit about some shops having to limit copies of DCC to customers and some shops even charging for them. Listings on eBay hovering around $10.

I’m beat. I haven’t spent that many hours standing in quite awhile. Great turn out. Had a lot of fun conversations but the best was with an English Lit professor who had just submitted a paper discussing the pop culture impact of DP7. 😀

Post a cover to a comic Gerry Conway wrote that you love. Love may be too strong a sentiment but this was the first comic that was brand new to me as a kid. No years of continuity to unravel. No editors notes. And to a kid just getting in to comics it was great. Even if the book wasn’t.
