I can tell that I am an odd person when my main work gripe (that impacts absolutely nobody but me) is that in a recent update, the software changed fonts. And now the font is different and different sections are different sizes and have different line spaces. 😭

I think a crucial point of the writing process, for anything, is to make sure you have multiple projects going on all at once. And that when you've finished a page of notes for your novel, you stamp it with a personalized stamp that says it's from your personal library to make it feel "official"

Being chronically ill is not lazy. Resting when your body needs it is not lazy. Saying “no” is not lazy. Taking care of yourself is not lazy. Ableism teaches us to guilt ourselves for respecting our body & its limits. Change the narrative. Taking care of yourself is powerful.

When we love someone, we don't demand they not struggle, ignore their struggles, or shame them for struggling. We sit w/ them. We see them. We validate them. If we want to develop realistic self love, we can't be demanding, ignoring, or shaming ourselves in our own struggles.

Every time someone compliments me on how fast I type, and marvels at the fact that I can touch type, that's the moment I am violently launched back into 7th grade computer class, which was a typing class, where I learned to type. And then I cry, because it's never from an older person.

There is something therapeutic about handwriting your book. Even when you forget that it will cause you physical pain and push through because it's been a part of your normal for 10ish years.

Editing is not a solo activity. It's a group effort between your old self, who writes ridiculous phrases and doesn't expand on anything, and current self, who has to clean up past self's mess. Sometimes, you also get your friends bullying past self. #booksky #writesky
