Right now, my focus is on making the iOS app as solid and feature-complete as possible. As a solo iOS developer, splitting attention across platforms early would compromise quality on both. Once the iOS version is in a great place, I plan to explore bringing Skyswipe to Android.

Sometimes you come across a video you just need to bookmark. Skyswipe lets you do exactly that, with saved videos only one tap away in your profile tab, along with reposts and likes. Phase 1 beta testing is now live: your feedback helps build what’s next.

The big difference with Bluesky is that their store is public. Anyone can make an app and see your publicly available Bluesky data. So if you link your Bluesky profile to Skyswipe, all of your followers (among other data) will automatically transfer over! There is no need to rebuild a following.

Custom feed support coming soon. In the meantime, you can switch to the "following" feed so that you only see videos from accounts you're following.

From what I’ve gathered, app passwords aren’t supposed to work with OAuth. Acc. to bsky team, OAuth is actually an alternative to app passwords, and expected to replace App pw entirely. Graysky doesnt use OAuth, handles your credentials directly so using the legacy app password flow makes sense

This is 100% doable and it wouldn’t even take very long to implement. Just grab the user’s Bluesky preferences containing their muted words and filter out videos that contain any of the words on the client side. I’ll keep you updated!

There needs to be incentive for everyday people to post videos. It has to be fun and engaging process, and there also needs to be that feeling having your videos be seen. We need the "anyone can go viral" vibes of TikTok for any alternative to it to really take off

so far the only (besides for Popsky) AT protocol iOS app I've seen with a smooth and nice UX, and the only video Bluesky client that doesn't have UX that randomly freaks out at the slightest interaction

Also, users log in with OAuth2 directly through the bluesky website, using their extensive OAuth2 Protocol, so we don't ever even see your credentials. Thanks for the great questions! I am working on a detailed website with details and FAQ right now, so this really helps.

Skyswipe is built entirely on the AT Protocol and uses the Bluesky API. All data, content, actions are passed directly to the Bluesky servers. Right now we don't have our own backend and we don't store any data. I will publish a full privacy policy when we release on the App store.

Decentralization and transparency call for customizable feeds. Black-box algorithms don't make sense, unless that's what the user asked for. Let's not repeat old mistakes.

An AtProto TikTok Alternative deserves user controlled feeds. While Skyswipe only supports 3 feeds right now, it is a high priority feature to add custom user controlled feeds for any feed, not just 3. Black-box algorithms and decentralization doesnt make sense (unless that's what the user wants)

skyswipe.io has a very minimal web app for watching Bsky videos in the TikTok format, if anyone's interested right now. However, be aware there is a bug currently that delays the initial loading (No videos found) and some minor parts like auth need a fix. Coming soon. iOS beta is also open now btw

Thought about this "for you page" problem for a while. Haven't implemented anything yet, but users who are looking for more personalized feed might be disappointed with the current state of ATProto feeds. Classic data/privacy trade-off between transparency/decentralization and custom tailored UX
