Not big into album anniversaries but this a big round number and one of my favorite albums of all time - Prefab Sprout's 1985 Steve McQueen/Two Wheels Good is 40 today.

New album today. Blotted consists of a low, undulating synthesizer tone that has been honed to the perfect gauzy texture to assist in blotting out the world. Designed and tested for sleep.

Steps Ahead, 1980s fusion band featuring Michael Brecker. Lots of synths, lots of vibraphone. Great stuff!

I love the music in The White Lotus. Always something surprising and primal. And it’s layered on almost every scene! The best music on a TV show I can remember. I wish I could write music like that.

I just sold a djembe at 6:30 AM on my front porch in the freezing darkness. Very eager and stoked buyer.

I recently listened to an interview with Dwight Yoakam. I don't know his music but he mentioned he checks his mixes on a JBL Clip bluetooth speaker. I tried it, it works. It's a great representation of the way many people will actually hear your music, so if it sounds good there... Thanks Dwight.

So thankful this one was around the house when I was a kid.
