I introduced a 20% flat tax into my B/X game( a libertarian paradise) and the players spent about 2-3 hours hiding in a wizards house and planning how to avoid the tax man. Peak OSR play. Invariably the answer was go into a dungeon full of undead , I guess they don't call it DnD for nothing.

It's not just DnD players that insist on hacking games they haven't played I constantly have to beg lancer pilled mechaboos in the Salvage Union discord to just run a single session RAW before adding an entire hex grid combat system, stat arrays to every mech and pilot, and a custom cover system.
