The Article 12 committee visited P2B yesterday and gave us the voting options for our St Patrick’s Day Celebrations. We discussed them, had a class vote and put our shamrock in the pot to cast our vote. ☘️

We were all so impressed by this amazing structure built by a super construction team! There were so many individual elements that the group brought together as they developed the metaskills of adapting, creating, focusing and collaborating 😊

We have been learning how to calculate change. It’s a bit tricky but I have been impressed with how well the children are grasping it. Keep practising at home too! 💰

As part of our non-fiction Talk for Writing, P2B are creating a fact file about Falkirk. This week, we have been working in pairs to research and gather information and have learned some interesting facts about places we know.

This week we used many reading skills as we read a non-fiction text and learned about knights and their armour. We skimmed and scanned, highlighted important information and shared our knowledge with our peers.

P2B have been having lots of fun this week learning about money! The children have been working independently and in groups to identify and count coins. We have also been looking at different ways to make the same amount. 🤑

As part of our Burns celebrations we learned about Scottish food and drinks. After a great class discussion we tried some oatcakes and shortbread, washed down with a wee taste of Irn Bru. 😊🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Today we worked in teams to improve our castle constructions. This STEM challenge had three requirements. Our castle should include a tower with a turret, a portcullis and a drawbridge. We developed and displayed the Meta Skills of adapting, creativity, focus and collaboration 😊

Last week, P2B began journaling as a way of meditating after break or lunch. We have been so impressed at how immersed the children have been in this activity, enjoying the calm time and the opportunity to engage in free writing to express their emotions.

In R.E., P2B have been learning about the Holy Family and that Jesus went to pray in the Synagogue with his parents. We have displayed the metaskills of creativity and focus with our art work, using line drawing and oil pastels to design a Synagogue 🕍
