P2M enjoyed an Author’s Live event to help celebrate Book Week Scotland 2025. They explored emotions through a story and became illustrators as they created their own characters displaying a range of emotions 📚✏️

I really enjoyed our Skills Academy with P6/5 on Friday as they explored still life art using the meta skills including focus, creativity and communication. 🖼️ @missm-stp.bsky.social

We had a lovely time celebrating Book Week Scotland 2025! We visited our school library, took part in an Author’s Live event, enjoyed lots of stories and had a special mission to help our Primary 7 pupils pick books to record as Audio books 📚

Today we worked on line drawing, making use of our outdoor leaf collection to create creatures as we discussed our knowledge of living and non-living things. We finished by linking this to the wonders of God’s creation. 🍁🍂🍃🪾

As part of our instructional writing and science topic we potted some cress! 🌱 We then sequenced the instructions to help with our writing later in the week. I forgot to take pictures during the lesson but here is the finished result. The children are excited to see them grow!

We loved our practical sandwich making this week as used our focusing and collaboration meta skills! We then used our knowledge to help us to sequence the steps and write our own instructions! Innovation week in Talk for Writing ✍️
