Primary 3 were learning about abstract art through the lens of Kandisky's famous work. We demonstarted our learning by creating secondary colours to complete some St Patricks themed art. ☘️

We introduced our writing focus "The papaya that spoke". We enjoyed cutting the papaya open but it was a mixed reaction for tasting 😂

P3 enjoyed working as a team to apply problem solving strategies during paired maths 🙌

We were learning about more and less trustworthy information linked to our IDLtopic, Mary Queen of Scots. We used critical thinking to question where information comes from and how reliable it is. 🧠📚

During Paired Maths, we used our collaboration skills to work with a partner to find as many maths routes as possible to the top of the beanstalk. We used directional language such as left and right to help us plan and explain our routes. 🌱➕🧠

P3 pupils have their Glow usernames and passwords in their homework wallets. Please help your child to keep these safe, as they are required if learning takes place at home. If your child was absent today, their details will be checked and added if required on Monday.

This week’s spelling will be revising the words below. Reading books have gone home, with key common words from the text included. There is no homework grid this term as we are focusing on the Reconciliation home learning booklet, reading and spelling words. In class, we will be covering Week 5.

P3F were able to apply their reading strategies during Talk for Writing 🌟

P6/5 worked brilliantly in their teams today during our Slilks Acadamy. They focussed on the skill critical thinking where they evaluated the function of their wind turbine and were able to discuss what worked well and what could be improved 😃

P6/5 were able to apply a variety of meta-skills during their first Skills Academy session. They enjoyed communicating and collaborating during the planning stage of their wind turbine project. They were able to adapt their designs and demonstrate their curiosity and creativity.

Pupils have been sent home with the new Talk 4 Writing story map to practise at home.
