Succeeding at running away from battle shouldn't be decided by RNG unless your game is balanced with it in mind, not only it's unfair, it's also just frustrating (especially in older games when you have only 1 attempt per turn to flee). Make it always work, or with a known malus whenever it's used.

Gun/really any weapon durability is almost always a genuinely fucking garbage mechanic. The Wild Zelda games do it fine and Red Dead's gun cleaning isn't the worst but other than that the shit is so unbelievably dumb
